For most, Medicare Part A begins automatically. Medicare Part B can be delayed, under certain circumstances, without penalty. When you are ready to enroll, be it in Medicare Part A and/or Medicare Part B, it is important to understand the other requirements necessary to avoid being penalized. This includes ensuring you have a Medicare creditable, or equivalent, prescription drug coverage.
